Fix Error Code 130 – Unable to Connect to the Proxy Server

If you have to see Error 130 on the screen while visiting a website, then you need to understand that your browser is unable to connect to the internet; it’s a result of your proxy connection. Maybe you have an invalid proxy connection on your computer, or your configuration of proxy is operated and controlled by the third party.

In any of the above-mentioned cases, you will not be able to access any web page, and this may cause you big trouble.

Why is Error Code 130 caused?

This error is often caused due to destructive malware installed on your PC; they harm your computer system by changing proxies incessantly and other system configuration as well.

Thus, now you don’t need to worry about this Error anymore because I am going to show 3 easy troubleshooting ways to fix this issue, so just kindly follow the below mentioned steps.

Remove or Reconfigure Proxy

1. First of all, hit Windows Key + R simultaneously.

2. Type “inetcpl.cpl” and tap enter to open Internet Properties.

3. Then, you need to tap on the Connections tab.

4. And select the LAN settings

5. Remove the checkmark from ‘Use a Proxy Server’ option for your LAN.

6. Also, you will need to make sure the “Automatically detect settings” option is checked.

7. Here, tap Ok then Apply and reboot your computer.

Note: If there’s a third-party proxy service, then you need to make sure to disable it. Or if you are the website owner and using the Proxy software for your site, then you have to make sure to check the configuration of the software.

Use Google Public DNS

If the above-mentioned solution doesn’t help, you should then try using the Google Public DNS and then check if that works for you.

Hence, you will have to explicitly change the DNS settings in the operating system of your computer with the help of DNS IP addresses.

Each time you type the domain name into the browser, then the DNS is going to look for the IP address of the domain name; also it will return the result to you.

1. Firstly, you need to right-click on the taskbar Network icon.

2. Then select the Network and Sharing Center.

3. Now you need to select the “Change Adapter Settings” option.

4. Here, you will need to search for the network connection, which is used to connect to the internet. The option you will find might be either “Local Area Connection” or “Wireless Connection.”

5. Then you need to right-click on it and tap Properties.

6. Now, you will have to choose the new window to select “Internet Protocol 4 (TCP/IPv4).”

7. Then tap on the Properties button.

8. Then in the new window, you have to tap the checkbox for “Use the following DNS server addresses.”

9. Simply enter in 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

10. At last, you just need to tap OK and exit.

Flush DNS, reset Winsock and reset TCP/IP

There are times when the websites fail to resolve because the DNS in your computer system still remembers the old IP. Thus, in this case, you have to make sure to flush the DNS, do something to reset Winsock and also Reset TCP/IP.
